I can’t imagine ever going through this, but I want people to see how much pain transgendered people go through without all the weird looks, hateful words, and physical bullying. The worst part is that it not only comes from straight people, but from the LGBT community as well. You’d think that a group that has put up with so much hate would be able to see what they’re doing to someone just like them.

“This is huge. While it’s true that this doesn’t mean anything legislatively, it’s moral impact is pretty damn large. I mean, for me, it was pretty striking to see my president openly support something that is part of my life.”
